The Return of the Village: Why I’m Dedicating My Career to the Sacred Perinatal Journey

Long before I ever mapped out a professional path, I knew one thing with absolute clarity: I wanted to be a mother. Raising my daughter and navigating the profound, beautiful, and sometimes overwhelming landscape of parenthood has undeniably been the greatest adventure of my life.
Now, as I look toward the horizon of this next chapter, my heart pulls me toward a deeply rooted calling, mentoring the younger generations of parents who are finding their way through the fog of early family life.
Throughout human history, the village was everything. There is an ancient, vital tradition of older, experienced women wrapping their arms around mothers-to-be, offering steady wisdom, quiet comfort, and grounded guidance through one of life’s most vulnerable transitions. In modern society, we have often traded that collective village for isolation. Stepping into that mentor and matriarchal role is not just a career pivot for me; it is a return to a sacred human tradition.
Culinary Nutrition as a Priority, Not an Afterthought

My path to this work is built on a lifelong romance with food, backed by rigorous science. With a Le Cordon Bleu culinary degree, a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, training as an Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) coach, and completion of the CHEF program through Harvard and the Lifestyle Medicine Institute, I view food through a lens of profound physiological and emotional healing.
Yet, when it comes to the perinatal stage, nutrition is far too often treated as an afterthought or an extra box to check. We obsess over prenatal vitamin brands and basic calorie counts, but we frequently miss the transformative, restorative power of deeply nourishing, culinary-driven meals.
During pregnancy, postpartum, and lactation, a mother’s body is performing staggering, miraculous work. Culinary nutrition services should never be a luxury add-on or a post-birth afterthought. They must be a foundational priority. Tissue repair, hormonal equilibrium, robust milk production, and postpartum mood resilience all begin directly on the plate. When we feed the mother with the same intentionality that she pours into her newborn, we change the entire trajectory of her recovery.
Comprehensive Care: Doula Support and Prenatal Movement

Caring for a new mother requires a holistic ecosystem that extends far beyond the kitchen. Grounded in my formal training as a certified community birth doula through Denver Health and a postpartum doula certified with CAPPA, I walk side-by-side with families to provide grounded, compassionate physical and emotional support. A doula acts as an anchor in the storm, bridging the gap between clinical hospital environments and the quiet reality of home, and ensuring that mothers feel genuinely seen, heard, and protected as they anchor into their new identity.
To further support the physical transformation of pregnancy and birth, I also weave in specialized movement. As a certified yoga teacher with a specialized certification in pregnancy, I help mothers cultivate body awareness, alleviate discomfort, and build the physical and mental stamina needed for labor and postpartum recovery through safe, intentional movement.
Equity in Care: Making the Village Accessible to Everyone
Perhaps the most important pillar of my mission is simple: every single family deserves a healthy, supported, and dignified perinatal stage.
Too often, specialized nutritional therapy, dedicated doula support, and holistic wellness care are treated as exclusive luxuries reserved only for those with disposable income. That is entirely backwards. The families who need support the most are frequently the ones priced out of the modern wellness market.
That is why building my business to be Medicaid- and CHP-approved is non-negotiable. I am fiercely committed to tearing down financial barriers so that I can serve everyone in our community. Every mother deserves a village, and no one should ever be priced out of receiving the foundational care they deserve during life’s most delicate chapter.
